How to get to Oxford

From the airport

Heathrow or Gatwick airports: You can take the Airline bus, which leaves roughly every 30 minutes to and from Heathrow, and every hour from Gatwick (though at certain times, this is less frequent; please check the website). From Heathrow it takes about 80 minutes; from Gatwick add another 30 minutes to your journey. Please note that journeys may take longer during rush hour. You can buy your tickets via an app you can download, or directly on the bus with cash.

Luton, Stansted or London City airports: These are not recommended, but if you travel through these hubs, check National Express for Stansted or Luton; for London City, you will need to travel via the London Tube to Paddington station (see below).

Birmingham International airport: you can take a direct train to Oxford (about 1.5 hours).

From London to oxford

If you are arriving from London, or coming by train (e.g. Eurostar into St. Pancras), make your way to London Paddington or London Marylebone (taking the tube or bus), and take a train to Oxford (Great Western Railway - about one hour).

Please note that because of the closure of the Oxford train station from the 23rd to the 26th September, we recommend that you use the Chiltern Railways service that operates between London Marylebone and Oxford Parkway on that weekend. There will be buses available from Oxford Parkway to take passengers into the city centre.

Alternatively, the Oxford Tube Company operates regular buses between London and Oxford (with a stop in High Street in front of the Queen’s College).

Getting to the conference venue

The Queen’s College is situated on High Street in the centre of Oxford (map). Arriving from Heathrow or Gatwick with the Airline bus, the college is a very short walk from the High Street-Queen’s Lane stop. From Oxford Rail Station, it is a 15 minute walk, or you can take one of the many buses (stop: Queen’s Lane).
